Seniors Play An Important Role in Children's Lives

Working for Kids: Building Skills™ offers training programs to senior citizens. Seniors are vital contributors to their community. They have a wealth of knowledge and they often have time to spend with young children. Our program gives seniors pointers on how to interest and engage children in the learning cycle where children become interested in something, engage in activities that teach them new skills, repeat the skill again and again because it is interesting and fun, and eventually develop self-confidence with that skill. The benefits of having seniors in the community who are interested and willing to work with young children is enormous!

Working with young children has benefits for seniors also! These include cognitive stimulation, improved mood, increased exercise and mobility, and an increased feeling of being needed.
